Sealants and Adhesives
Sitol® M.E.D.
- Resistant to UV, weathering, chemicals and salt water
- Solvent and isocyanate free: NOT requiring training according to Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006
- Compatible with marine industry materials on deck/bridges and under decks
- Permanently elastic within a temperature range of -40 °C to +100 °C
Sitol® M.E.D. is a high-quality professional adhesive-sealant based on hybrid polymers. It hardens by reaction with moisture to form a permanently elastic mass. It exhibits rapid hardening and high initial adhesion, permanent elasticity from -40 to +100°C. Absorbs vibrations and acoustically insulates glued elements. High resistance to UV radiation, ageing in general, chemicals and salt water. Does not shrink or flake. Free of solvents and isocyanates. It is a structural adhesive developed specifically for bonding and sealing glass, both mineral and organic, in the marine industry. It adheres without primer on typical nautical industry materials, natural and synthetic, smooth and porous, even wet, provided they are clean, degreased and compact. Adheres to wet substrates. High mechanical resistance. Thanks to its chemical resistance characteristics, it can be used for sealing in exposed areas.
Typical bonding and sealing on yachts and boats on deck/hull and below deck on walls, floors and ceilings.
- bonding and sealing of mineral and organic glass
- sealing sea intakes
- structural bonding and sealing of all bridge/deck fittings and equipment
- structural bonding and sealing of panels
- structural bonding and sealing of deck-hull connections
- structural bonding of hatches and portholes
- bonding of natural or synthetic teak deck on bridge where higher initial bond strength is required
- bumper bonding
