Sanitary environments
Sanitary areas, bathrooms and kitchens, unlike other environments, are characterised by the almost constant presence of water and high humidity levels that slow down the drying of surfaces. The combination of these factors with the soaps and organic residues typically found in these environments favours the growth of ‘biological patinas’, especially on porous surfaces or where there is a risk of water stagnation. Mould that develops, e.g. on floor edges and joints between sanitary ware and tiles, as well as being unsightly, is a form of material degradation and a sign of unhealthy environments. Using sealants with an anti mould agent prevents the formation of mould and also guarantees good resistance to boiling water and chemically aggressive detergents.
